A interesting museum with excellent display of artifacts. Most displays are pots, figures for warships, etc. Even though those items are excellent, the amount of collections is on low side and the area of dispy rooms are not big comparing to others museums on similar levels.

Great museum, lots of different artifacts. Unable to take your bag in, lockers are available with a key. Can take photos but no flash. So peaceful to walk through, well thought out museum.

This is a must do in Santiago in our opinion. This museum was beautifully curated. The basement was by far our favorite room and it tells the story of the early history of the land that is Chile. The upper floors include all of Latin America by region. Unfortunately, the region that encompassed most of Chile was closed for maintenance while we were there. Its not a huge museum. I would plan 1.5-2 hours.

This is a small but meaningful museum that deserves a visit. That said, the translation could be improved. From the standpoint of a bilingual Chilean familiar with both local and global historical contexts, the translation would benefit from greater accuracy and cultural sensitivity.

Very nice museum on the cultures of America before the visit of Christopher Columbus. It has got a broad focus, not only on the cultures of Chile but of all Southern America and even the Meso-American cultures. Lots of information in both English and Spanish, in well-lit exposition cabinets. Highly recommended!
